Bedford’s location on the River Great Ouse makes a variety of water based sports possible here. Canoeing is a great family activity or can provide major challenges for the serious competitor. There is a very strong interest and participation in paddle sport in the area which is reflected by the Olympic gold medal won by Etienne Stott who is a member of Bedford Viking Kayak Club.
